About the Role

Gemini Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Public Law Solicitor to join our client's team. As a leading law firm, our client is committed to delivering exceptional legal services to corporate entities and private individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise a team of Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors, and Caseworkers to ensure effective case management and delivery of high-quality results.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members on Public Law matters, including unlawful detention, false imprisonment, and asylum support.
  • Assist in the delivery of training and development programs to enhance the department's skills and knowledge.
  • Prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency and draft documents, including witness statements and evidence.
  • Attend conferences and court proceedings to represent clients and advocate on their behalf.
Requirements
  • Law Society Immigration Accreditation is desirable.
  • Qualified Solicitor with a clean, valid Practicing Certificate.
  • Strong management skills and ability to work to key performance indicators.
  • Excellent client care skills and ability to deal with vulnerable clients and resolve complicated practicalities involved in Public Law issues.
  • Excellent networking and communication skills to successfully market the company and generate new business.
  • Working knowledge of the Legal Aid Guidance for Public Law matters and ability to service privately funded cases.
  • Extensive experience in dealing with all Public Law related work.
  • Experience in own advocacy is an advantage.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and document management.
