Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct the day-to-day operational management of the home, ensuring effective use of resources.
  • Ensure all staff receive regular supervision and adhere to CareTech's Policy and Procedures.
  • Work closely with the Service Development Team to select and assess potential new residents.
  • Develop and implement dynamic support plans for service users, involving them in the process as much as possible.
  • Ensure the home operates in accordance with statutory requirements and National Minimum Standards.
  • Provide a safe environment that promotes personal development and addresses practical, physical, and emotional needs.
  • Lead risk analysis and develop plans to minimize risk where necessary.
  • Support the health and well-being of service users and staff.
  • Liaise with external agencies and maintain professional relationships.
  • Work with the Personnel Department to recruit and select staff, and assist the Area Manager in formulating staffing strategies.
  • Participate in budget formulation and monitor expenditure.
  • Ensure proper record and administrative systems are in place.
  • Manage the Home's petty cash float and valuables.
  • Participate in the Area's on-call management system.
  • Ensure good Health and Safety practice and legal compliance.
  • Communicate effectively within the home, upwards, and sideways.
  • Support the Company's Disciplinary and Grievance processes.
Requirements
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Confidence to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for working with vulnerable adults.
  • Commitment to achieving high standards of safeguarding.
