New Directions Holding is seeking a Behavioural Support Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support to children with social, emotional, and mental health issues in a Pupil Referral Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students and staff to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Provide individualized support to students with complex needs, including those with social, emotional, and mental health issues.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
- Use de-escalation and calming techniques to manage challenging behaviors.
- Provide guidance and support to students to help them develop positive relationships and behaviors.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with social, emotional, and mental health issues.
- Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Ability to support children of all abilities.
- Positive and ambitious attitude to learning.
