Job Summary:

New Directions Holding is seeking a Behavioural Support Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support to children with social, emotional, and mental health issues in a Pupil Referral Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students and staff to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs, including those with social, emotional, and mental health issues.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Use de-escalation and calming techniques to manage challenging behaviors.
  • Provide guidance and support to students to help them develop positive relationships and behaviors.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with social, emotional, and mental health issues.
  • Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
