Financial Accountant Hybrid WFH

At MCS Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team in a hybrid working arrangement. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and managing a program to monitor the finances and activities of the charity sector in Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze charity accounts and assist with financial aspects of investigations to verify compliance and report on unfit conduct.
- Develop and manage the annual monitoring program, including issuing monitoring forms and managing workflows and caseloads.
- Manage the compliance function, supporting charities, conducting preventive monitoring, and taking follow-up actions like investigations or issuing formal directions/orders.
- Stay updated on the latest accounting standards and practices that impact the Charity Commission, such as SORP.
- Provide technical guidance to improve compliance with accounting requirements and enhance understanding of the monitoring process.
- Ensure compliance with Data Protection, Freedom of Information, and CCNI requirements regarding documentation and record-keeping.
- Have successfully passed the final professional examinations and be a full, current member of a Chartered Accounting body.
- Experience of the development & management of a program of financial work.
- Experience of managing a team to include recruitment, training, coaching, performance management, development and appraisal.
- Experience of charity accounts/charity governance.
- Experience of risk assessment frameworks.
- Experience of forensic accounting.
- Experience of working in a regulatory framework.
