Senior Paediatric Psychologist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced clinical psychologist to join our paediatric psychology team at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Role DescriptionThe successful candidate will provide evidence-based psychological interventions to children and young people referred with a range of physical health conditions, including cystic fibrosis, respiratory, cardiac, epilepsy, oncology, allergies, chronic pain, and persistent physical symptom presentations.
The role involves working as an autonomous practitioner, providing a high-quality specialist paediatric psychology service to children, young people, their families, and groups, within and across teams, in line with best evidence-based practice and Trust care pathways.
Main Duties- Provide a high-quality specialist paediatric psychology service to children, young people, their families, and groups, within and across teams, in line with best evidence-based practice and Trust care pathways.
- Hold and manage a clinical caseload, exercising autonomous professional responsibility for the planning and prioritising of own workload and the assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients, within the bounds of the service operational policy.
- Use analytical and judgment skills to take clinical management decisions in complex clinical issues, analysing and interpreting highly complex assessment findings, and providing psychological recommendations to parents/carers and other professionals.
- Provide clinical supervision to assistant psychologists, trainee psychologists, and junior psychologists, as well as other staff as appropriate.
Education and Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Doctorate (or equivalent) in Clinical or Counselling Psychology
- HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist
Desirable Criteria
- Eligible for HCPC registration once doctorate completed
- Significant experience working as a qualified psychologist with children and young people
- Significant experience working in a paediatric healthcare setting
