Job Description

Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEN Support

Location: Quidenham, Norwich

Job Type: Temporary

Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time only

Salary: £21,709.61 - £22,388.59 per annum

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEN secondary school in Quidenham. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the teacher and therapy teams to create a supportive and inclusive environment for students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a positive relationship with pupils: Build trust and rapport with students to create a safe and enabling environment.
  • Support independence and personal development: Encourage students to take ownership of their learning and develop their skills and abilities.
  • Contribute to lesson planning and delivery: Assist the teacher in planning and delivering high-quality educational activities and experiences.
  • Support the class teacher: Assist with the day-to-day running of the class, including managing student behavior and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Respond to changing needs: Adapt to the varying needs of the school and respond to any tasks or challenges presented.
  • Promote student development: Support students' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
  • Collaborate with the team: Work collaboratively with the multi-professional team to achieve the smooth running of the school.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English Language qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent, Level 2 - 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or working towards), understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Experience: Knowledge and experience of working with students with SEMH, ASD.
