About the Role

West Leeds Primary Care Network is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake medicines reconciliation in accordance with practice protocols and update patients' medical records accordingly.
  • Respond to medication queries from patients and staff in a professional manner, referring to the clinical pharmacist when appropriate.
  • Process hospital correspondence, such as electronic Discharge Against Medical Advice (eDANS) and Treatment Advice Notes (TANs).
  • Action Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and supply shortage alerts.
  • Support the implementation of national prescribing policies and guidance within GP practices, care homes, and other primary care settings.
  • Support the PCN to deliver on Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) agenda, Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), and locally commissioned enhanced services.

Person Specification

  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent with underpinning knowledge.
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Evidence of commitment to continued professional development in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Must be prepared to complete the CPPE General Practice Pharmacy Technician Training Pathway.
  • Must be willing to participate in any relevant training identified to develop skills needed to carry out the role.

About Us

West Leeds Primary Care Network provides services for 6 practices in and around Pudsey/Bramley with a total patient population of approximately 70,000. We have a mature workforce covering many clinical disciplines, including Occupational Therapists, Social Prescribers, Physiotherapists, Paramedics, Dietitian, Health Care Assistants, Health and Wellbeing Coaches, Physician Associates, Care Co-ordinators, and Mental Wellbeing Practitioners. We also mentor pre-registration pharmacists, providing a wealth of clinical support within the team.
