**Job Summary**

The role of a Section Planner at Network Rail is to utilise corporate planning processes, systems, and databases to develop detailed, fully resourced, and optimised work plans for approval by Section Managers.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. Plan and optimise all agreed work activities for the section, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruptions.

2. Accurately update systems, databases, and records as required, maintaining data integrity and consistency.

3. Produce Safe Systems of Work plans, prioritising employee safety and well-being.

4. Submit green zone access and isolation requests, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

5. Develop draft quarterly plans, aligning with business objectives and strategic goals.

6. Manage weekly Plan-Do-Review meetings, fostering collaboration and open communication.

7. Represent Section Managers at planning meetings, providing expert insights and recommendations.

8. Collate and maintain infrastructure maintenance records, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.

**Essential Skills and Qualifications:**

• Work plan production and resource optimisation skills, with a focus on efficiency and productivity.

• Scheduling profile in work planning/scheduling systems, with a strong understanding of planning principles.

• Core Planning Skills Level 2, with a focus on strategic planning and execution.

• Knowledge of access and possession processes and systems, with a focus on compliance and regulatory requirements.

• Safe System of Work Planning Process and System, with a focus on employee safety and well-being.

• Good interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.

**Desirable Skills and Qualifications:**

• Knowledge of maintenance delivery processes and techniques, with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
