Study Coach

Job Summary:

The Heart of Yorkshire Education Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Study Coach to provide coaching and additional support to learners with a range of support needs. As a Study Coach, you will work closely with teaching and non-teaching staff to develop specific strategies to support learner achievement and encourage learner motivation and engagement in their chosen area of study.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one coaching and support to learners with a range of support needs, including those with disabilities.
• Develop and implement strategies to support learner achievement, including literacy, communication, numeracy, and study skills.
• Liaise with teaching and non-teaching staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Contribute to the development of student's independence and social awareness in a range of settings.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualification at Level 3.
• GCSE grade A*- C / 9 - 4 in English and Maths or Level 2 equivalent as a minimum.
• Ability to plan and deliver one-to-one sessions to learners.
• Experience of providing support to 16-24 year olds with disabilities.

Desirable Skills:

• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels.
• Ability to manage and advocate on behalf of challenging behaviour.
• Confidently offering a range of strategies to assist tutors in making specific reasonable adjustments to ensure the student can fully access all the learning available.
