Wood is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen. As a key member of our structural engineering team, you will provide technical expertise to support our current modifications portfolio with one of our major UK North Sea clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide structural engineering expertise to projects, ensuring delivery of projects to tight timescales in accordance with client expectations.
  • Define structural engineering requirements for technical scopes, developing deliverables and documentation for use in offshore construction workpacks.
  • Execute facility engineering design in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Undertake engineering checking and approvals, ensuring compliance with company core values and ethics policy.

Requirements:

  • Brownfield Oil & Gas structural engineering experience is essential.
  • Proficient with specialist software packages, such as MathCad and STAADpro.
  • Knowledge of international codes and client standards, including local deck strengthening.
  • Ability to demonstrate compliance with company core values and ethics policy.
  • Technically competent in own discipline, actively maintaining own competence according to engineering council requirements and pursuing continuous professional development.
  • Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives, and industry developments, promoting knowledge sharing to direct reports.
  • Support and supervise tasks delegated to direct reports, including remote work centers.
  • Coaching and mentoring of direct reports as delegated.
  • Familiar with technical direction and control of brownfield Oil & Gas engineering projects.
  • Flexible and can-do attitude, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all project stakeholders.
