Electronics Specialist

Key Responsibilities:- Identify and troubleshoot faults in electronic and electrotechnical components, including PCBs and PCAs.
- Read, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions, including drawings and technical procedures.
- Develop a strong understanding of electronic components, their operation, and usage.
- Operate and maintain test equipment, including knowledge of their limitations and usage.
- Build and assemble PCBs and PCAs from drawings and instructions.
- Rework and modify PCBs through component replacement and track modification.
- Solder to a high standard and have knowledge of various solder joints.
- Conduct testing to component level and identify equipment test requirements.
- Assemble wiring and repair/modify looms and populate various types of military and aviation connectors.
- Work effectively in a team or individually and communicate clearly with colleagues, superiors, and other departments.
- Ability to identify equipment operation and establish test requirements, including required test equipment and test set proposals.
- Soldering to IPC 7711/7721 standard.
- Ability to strip survey equipment and produce build plans/procedures and kitting lists.
- Experience in designing new equipment and test sets.
- Completing reports such as test reports, build reports, and other compliance paperwork.
- Working knowledge of CAD packages and other test and simulation software.
- Good understanding of analogue electronic circuits and discrete digital circuits, including fault-finding and design.
- Report weekly on the status of current jobs, including issues and stock levels.
- Work to customer delivery timescales and ensure that any issues or expected overruns are reported in a timely fashion.
- Ensure that work areas and tooling used are suitable and well-maintained to meet company compliance and standards.
- Ensure that work areas comply with the 5 S process.
- Report any issues observed, such as defects, faults, or stock levels, in a timely manner.
