About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Night Shift Manager to join our team at Smiths News. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the night shift operation in our depot, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of newspapers and magazines to our retailers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage a team of staff, providing training and coaching to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
  • Provide regular reports to the management team, highlighting any challenges or successes and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Work closely with the management team to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Maintain a high level of health and safety at all times, ensuring that all staff are aware of and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies, including those related to health and safety, data protection, and employment law.
  • Work to an annual set budget and forecast, ensuring that all financial targets are met.

About You:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who has a track record of success in a warehouse environment, preferably in a management position. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. You will also have a strong commercial and financial awareness, with the ability to manage budgets and forecasts.
