Job Summary

The Logistics Team Lead will provide day-to-day leadership of the Shipping department, ensuring a prompt and efficient shipping service for the company in compliance with all transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Logistics Operations Management
    • Plan, manage, and evaluate logistics operations, liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies, and customers.
    • Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies, and processes for the HPL & TSS sites to improve operational and financial performance.
  • Problem Resolution
    • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
  • Performance Monitoring
    • Review the impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes, or carriers, and report results to others.
    • Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs.
  • Team Leadership
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
    • Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation are provided on time.
    • Maintain sufficient cover for the Shipping team at the HPL site.
  • Carrier Management
    • Support Procurement in the selection of carriers and monitor service against performance criteria.
  • Process Improvement
    • Support the implementation of new ERP for the shipping department.
  • Compliance and Safety
    • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
    • Responsible for the health & safety of the shipping department.
About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Logistics Team Lead who can:

  • Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements.
  • Set departmental objectives/KPIs, review, and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
  • Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
  • Implement transformational change and evidence previous achievements.
