Software Engineer - Product Development

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Product Development department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software and systems that meet the needs of our business.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop software programs for electronic products, data analysis, and test equipment.
  • Manage software development programs from concept to delivery.
  • Create software definitions, flow diagrams, and interface requirements.
  • Support, coordinate, and communicate with staff and external parties on the application of software.
  • Develop simulation models of electrical/electronic products and systems.
  • Troubleshoot Programme Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI) / dashboards, network connectivity, and software.
  • Identify and provide solutions for control system technical issues.
  • Support, coordinate, and communicate group activities on the specification, adherence, supply, control, and consumption of electrical energy.
  • Implement, verify, and document design changes to software and PLC.
  • Develop and upgrade HMI / dashboards.
  • Create technical documents, specifications, designs, drawings, calculations, and supporting documents in line with design request requirements.
  • Lead, attend, and contribute during engineering design reviews.
  • Assist in the evaluation of product viability.
  • Support engineering cost and delivery estimates for proposing development of new technology.
  • Ensure project progress is sufficiently communicated to Design Engineering Manager and key project stakeholders.
  • Undertake the role of lead software engineer on projects.
  • Check technical documents associated with design development.
  • Actively promote a positive team working environment within the Product Development and interfacing departments.
  • Provide support/assistance in the testing of new products.
  • Ensure business and design development engineering processes and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure effective and productive client relationships are built and maintained.
  • Support the handover of new technology/equipment to Assets Team.
  • Adhere to company QHSE policies and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Software programming skills.
  • Electrical modeling experience.
  • Design development of new products/technology.
  • Experience with fast-paced project delivery.
  • Providing solutions to design problems.
  • Knowledge and expertise in PLC, software, HMI.
  • Knowledge of software development tools, methodologies, and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prioritizing conflicting workloads.
  • Working to tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good team player with sound interpersonal skills.
  • Driving license.
