Role Overview:

The Land Acquisition Specialist will play a pivotal role in securing the necessary land for our expanding portfolio of renewable energy initiatives. This position encompasses the entire process from site identification to project development and eventual operational launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and finalize Heads of Terms, Option, and Lease agreements along with other essential land rights with landowners and their representatives.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with landowners, their legal advisors, and agents.
  • Monitor market trends, rates, and influencing factors to develop competitive strategies that enhance project value.
  • Facilitate land transactions and project closures, ensuring thorough due diligence management.
  • Collaborate closely with the internal legal team to oversee land agreements, track milestones, and maintain an updated risk register.
  • Provide expert advice on land transactions concerning joint ventures, acquisitions, sales, and related due diligence.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as rural surveying or estate management, along with post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in renewable energy project development and land acquisition.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the commercial aspects of renewable energy development and operations.
  • Proficiency in land and real estate transactions, including legal documentation and procedures.
  • Experience with NSIP, DCO, and renewable energy agreements, particularly in negotiation and contract securing.
  • Strong commercial acumen, business insight, and risk management skills.
  • A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel for site assessments and meetings.
