Are you a Psychology Graduate seeking a year's experience as a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant before pursuing a career in psychology? We are working with a primary school that caters to their SEND children graciously, and intently. The school is looking for a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant to assist their children with across the school, and they are looking for the Primary SEND Teaching Assistant to assist the pupil's learning, and academic and social-emotional progression.
Primary SEND Teaching Assistant | Key Responsibilities
  • Initial contract for a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant commencing imminently, lasting until July 2025
  • Work Monday - Friday, 8:30 am- 4:00 pm
  • £400 per week | Paid PAYE
  • Inclusive Primary School Provision
  • A Primary SEND Teaching Assistant will work with 4-11 year olds with various needs
  • Safeguarding Training and other necessary training from specialists and professionals
  • The role of a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant will mostly include 1:1 work with individual students

Primary SEND Teaching Assistant | Day-to-day:
  • A Primary SEND Teaching Assistant will be providing classroom support to 4-11 year-olds with various needs Autism Spectrum Condition, Speech and Communication Difficulties, and ADHD and other needs.
  • Planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals and groups of students will be a priority for a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant.
  • Monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupil achievement, progress and development and reporting findings back to the SEND Team is essential.
  • Building core skills and supporting a strong knowledge base through a tailored approach to the individual needs of the pupils.
  • Working within a high staff-to-pupil ratio to enable an individualized approach to learning.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with parents, carers and family.
  • Working with CAMHS, the School Nursing Service and Early Help and Social Care teams.
