Job Title: PT Finance Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to join the finance team at Ann Pettengell as a part-time Finance Assistant. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance function and contributing to the smooth operation of the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process purchase invoices and maintain the purchase ledger system
  • Bank and reconcile the school's main bank account
  • Maintain the petty cash system
  • Carry out suspense account reconciliations
  • Assist with payroll entry and run the school's Direct Debit system
  • Take fee payments via the school's credit card facility
  • Assist with billing and archiving finance data
  • Other ad-hoc projects as directed by the Finance Director or Bursar
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the lettings process and raise letting invoices
  • Book staff training courses and manage the evaluation process
  • Process staff expenses and administer employee benefits schemes
  • Administer the school trips management system
  • Collate and submit accurate and timely payroll and pension data
  • Provide administration support for recruitment and HR
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a finance department, preferably in an education setting
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Substantial proficiency in IT applications, particularly accounting systems and MS Excel
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • A logical and proactive approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An understanding of confidentiality and data protection
