Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member to join our Physical Therapy Program as a tenure track faculty member. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service, and will contribute to the development of our program's curriculum and academic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Develop and teach courses in the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program, ensuring that courses and syllabi are current and available to all students.
  • Scholarship/Practice: Engage in individual and collaborative scholarly work related to area of interest, and advance professional practice through innovative research, presentations, and/or publications that support justice in societal health and education.
  • Service: Participate in University, College, and Institute committees and faculty meetings, as well as university academic events, and engage in professional service and leadership.
Requirements
  • Education: Earned degree in physical therapy (e.g., MPT, DPT) from an accredited college or university, and completed or anticipated timely completion of a terminal doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DSc) from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years (5 or more years preferred) teaching experience in physical therapy education settings, with evidence of professional development in the areas of teaching and learning.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication abilities, with knowledge around working with an interprofessional healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years teaching experience in the academic setting in some capacity.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of adult cardiopulmonary and/or neurologic physical therapist practice/scientific knowledgebase (in-depth knowledge of additional areas of physical therapist practice/scientific knowledgebase strongly encouraged).
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to sustain positions for periods of time and move about a classroom and/or campus for extended periods of time.
  • Weight: May need to lift supplies of up to 20lbs per item.
