About the Role

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Indirect Tax Manager to join our Tax team based in Dubai. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Amazon (Stores) business by providing expert tax guidance and advice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work within the VAT planning team for Middle East and Africa, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure tax considerations are incorporated into new business decisions, expansions into new markets, new product offerings, or restructuring of operations.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external customers, including active engagement with Tax Authorities, to provide practical solutions that align with the company's strategy and vision.
  • Effectively manage networks and stakeholders, and communicate complex tax concepts in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals.
  • Assist with the delivery of planning, real-time coordination, and communication of various tax-related projects.
  • Draft appropriate documentation to support analyses performed, decisions made, and conclusions reached for purposes of reporting and compliance.
  • Lead/Manage tax audits and inquiries by tax authorities, including preparing and reviewing responses to information requests and defending the company's tax technical positions.
  • Monitor changes in the Tax environment to understand the impact on current business operations, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on international tax matters, including conducting workshops or presentations to educate employees on tax implications of their activities.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience
  • 10+ years of tax experience with a significant amount of time providing technical guidance experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within a multinational business and either legal or accountancy firm experience
  • Experience liaising with tax authorities including responding to audits and information requests
