Financial Controller Job Description

Seattlestars is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join their team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting activities for all entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Management: Oversee the financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  2. Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including month-end journals, prepayments, accruals, and fixed asset depreciation.
  3. Audit and Compliance: Lead year-end audit processes and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
  4. Financial Planning: Conduct cash projections, analysis, comparisons, and forecasts to support business decisions.
  5. Taxation: Prepare PAYE & VAT returns and handle related reconciliations and online statutory payments.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts preparation, ideally within an SME environment.
  2. Experience with multi-company accounting and handling overseas business transactions.
  3. Strong reporting and data analysis skills.
  4. Comprehensive understanding of banking and debtor management.
  5. Proactive, determined, flexible, with a sense of humour and a diligent approach.
  6. Team player with high proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office & Excel.
Qualifications:
  1. Ideally, but not essential, qualified or part-qualified - CIMA, ACCA, or ACA
  2. Or AAT qualified
