About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Unique Group. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for our clients, including single-line diagrams, electrical wiring diagrams, and block diagrams.
  • Perform short-circuit and discrimination analysis using e-Design.
  • Prepare load analysis and bill of materials (BOM) in D365.
  • Develop system layout drawings and conceptual designs.
  • Support production and project teams in designing activities.

Documentation and Coordination:

  • Prepare specific operation manuals.
  • Coordinate with UH office for UH build or UH designed systems.
  • Identify suppliers for designed components.
  • Coordinate with clients for technical clarification on current and completed projects.

Project Execution:

  • Develop innovative proposals for electrical distribution and control systems.
  • Evaluate designs to identify loopholes and improve their final outlook.
  • Evaluate the function, safety, and appearance of products to ensure practical design.
  • Understand IEC and IEE regulations.
  • Configure CCTV, fire, and gas detection systems for containerized systems.
  • Execute hazardous area-based projects and related designs.
  • Develop equipment for diving and non-diving industries.
  • Liaise with relevant personnel during design projects.
  • Assist in determining design and commissioning time.
  • Support project progress.

QHSSE Activities:

  • Adhere to Unique Group's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Stop work if an unsafe act or condition is observed to ensure compliance with OHMS regulations and achieve a zero-harm working environment.
  • Report observations and interventions to the HSE Manager or Management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or B. Tech in Electrical Engineering or Megatronics.
  • 4+ years' experience in electrical design and commissioning, with a background in industrial maintenance.
  • High level of technical competency in electrical engineering design and analysis.
  • Experience in circuit designing is preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and be goal-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Position may require international travel.
  • Superior understanding and application of relevant codes and standards.
  • Competent in AutoCAD electrical software.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical process control.
  • Understanding and application of relevant codes such as ASME, ABS, DNV, LRS, IMCA, IMO, etc.
  • Report writing and writing of operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Good basic knowledge of the diving industry to apply to designs.
  • Innovative thinking, preparing of proposals for electrical distribution and control systems.
