Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team at Meriden Media. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating manual turning lathes, manual milling machines, and fly presses, as well as performing generalised use of pillar drill, band saw, and chop saw.

Daily Duties:

  • Set and operate manual turning lathes, manual milling machines, and fly presses.
  • Generalised use of pillar drill, band saw, and chop saw.
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings.
  • Complete documentation, quality plans, workshop instructions, and inspection records when required.
  • Ensure all pre-safety checks are completed, and all equipment and guarding in the Machine Shop is maintained.
  • Liaise with Engineers and Supervisors to ensure machines and equipment are repaired and serviced.
  • Keep machine and work area clean and ensuring tools and equipment returned after use.

Requirements:

  • Time-served and relevant engineering qualification.
  • Previous experience within a machine shop environment.
  • Previous manual milling and turning experience is essential.

What We Offer:

  • Hourly rate of £14.19.
  • Full-time hours Monday to Friday.
  • Temporary to permanent opportunity.
