Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Buyer to join our team at Stafflex Commercial. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing raw materials and components in a timely manner for all projects, managing purchase requisitions, and negotiating with suppliers to establish cost savings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing: Buy raw materials and components in a timely manner for all projects.
  • Purchase Requisitions: Manage purchase requisitions raised in line with financial procedures.
  • Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers to establish cost savings through agreements, discounts, schedules, and rebates.
  • Delivery Dates: Maintain accurate and up-to-date delivery dates within the ERP system.
  • Relationship Building: Develop relationships with suppliers to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Non-Compliance Resolution: Follow the Non-Compliance Resolution process where non-conforming components are identified.
  • Stock Management: Work with the Senior Buyer to manage stock contracts throughout the business.
  • Inventory Control: Work closely with the Stores and Manufacturing teams to ensure effective flow of stock.
  • Stocktakes: Assist with stocktakes.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience working within a buying or procurement function in a purchasing environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working within an Engineering or Manufacturing organisation.
  • Negotiation Skills: Effective negotiation skills.
  • ERP System Knowledge: Understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Stock Control Knowledge: Understanding of stock control systems.
  • Microsoft Office: Ability to use Microsoft Office.
  • Teamwork: The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider organisation.
  • Adaptability: Adaptability and flexibility in meeting the demands of a growing business.

Desirable Skills:

  • Syspro Knowledge: Knowledge of Syspro is an advantage.
