Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Datacenter Network Engineer to join our team at Iron Systems. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of our datacenter network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deployment and Configuration
    • Deploy and configure servers, storage devices, and network equipment in our datacenter environment.
    • Implement and manage network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
    • Configure and manage storage systems, including SAN and NAS devices.
  • Break-Fix and Technical Tasks
    • Perform break-fix tasks, including power cycling, running diagnostics, and replacing defective components.
    • Conduct whole unit replacements and insert/remove media as needed.
    • Assist with fault diagnosis and investigation, and provide loop-back cables for remote testing.
  • Operations Tasks
    • Update and record activities in our IT ticket management system.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to schedule activities and ensure timely completion.
    • Provide support through phone, remote tools, or in-person visits to our datacenter.
    Requirements
    • Technical Skills
      • Good general understanding of IT principles, including networks, hardware, and domains.
      • Knowledge of infrastructure hardware architecture and troubleshooting procedures.
      • Experience with server/client operations in a domain environment, including Active Directory.
      • Understanding of current and legacy hardware infrastructure platforms.
      • Hands-on experience with installation and troubleshooting of infrastructure equipment, including rack and stack.
    • Soft Skills
      • Exceptional customer-facing skills and ability to communicate effectively.
      • Logical and analytical approach to work, with accurate record keeping.
      • Able to work unsupervised and maintain a high level of productivity.
    • Education and Experience
      • Bachelor of Engineering, Technology, or Science, or equivalent work experience.
      • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.
      Language Skills
      • English language proficiency.
