Product Development Engineer

Morgan Jones is seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the commercial vehicle safety team, you will play a crucial role in advancing safety technologies and creating cutting-edge products that save lives worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage product development throughout the product lifecycle.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality.
- Develop engineering specifications and ensure products are designed for manufacturing.
- Manage product verification and validation, coordinating both in-house and external resources.
- Create detailed technical drawings and documentation for components.
- Support customers, sales, and marketing teams with technical product knowledge.
- Troubleshoot product faults down to PCB level and support quality teams as needed.
- Experience with LCD displays, camera development, audio processing, and object detection systems.
- Strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronics, micro-processing, and digital signal processing systems.
- Awareness of software/hardware integration, including communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI, and RS232.
- Familiarity with functional troubleshooting and product fault-finding processes.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics product development or similar field (mandatory).
- 3+ years of experience in electronics product development.
- Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics, micro-processing, and digital communication protocols.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with CAD development tools and Microsoft 365 Suite.
- Proven ability to manage supplier relationships, especially in international contexts.
