About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting and Corporate Reporting Advisory Director to join our Financial Services team at BDO LLP. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients in the insurance sector with their accounting and corporate reporting needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert accounting and corporate reporting advice to clients in the insurance sector, including IFRS 9, 16, and 17 and transition between financial reporting frameworks
  • Lead and manage complex accounting and corporate reporting projects, including planning, controlling, and completing projects on an end-to-end basis
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, including senior managers, directors, and partners
  • Identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to clients
  • Contribute to the growth and development of our Financial Services team, including mentoring and coaching junior team members

Requirements:

  • Professional qualification of ACA or ACCA or equivalent
  • Proven ability to scope, win, and deliver complex accounting and corporate reporting advisory projects
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence, lead, engage, and manage a number of stakeholders
  • Sound effective and efficient time management and organization skills
  • Previous people management experience
  • Positive outcomes from quality and risk reviews within an ISQM 1 environment
  • Very experienced in the delivery of accounting and corporate reporting advice with clients in the insurance sector
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of relevant technical standards (IFRS Accounting Standards and UK GAAP) and relevant laws and regulations, such as the Companies Act
