About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Behavioural Rehabilitation Specialist to join our Behaviour team at Blue Cross. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and facilitating rehabilitation programmes for pets in our care, working under the guidance of an Animal Behaviourist. Your expertise in reward-based training techniques will be invaluable in helping us achieve our mission of improving the lives of pets and their owners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement rehabilitation programmes for pets in our care, using evidence-based training techniques
  • Work collaboratively with our Behaviour team to provide expert advice and guidance on animal behaviour and training
  • Provide training and coaching to centre teams on animal behaviour and training best practices
  • Contribute to the development of our Behaviour Service, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance our services
About You

We are looking for a confident, adaptable, and compassionate animal handler and trainer who is passionate about animal welfare and behaviour. You will have excellent communication skills, a thorough understanding of animal behaviour, and the ability to teach and demonstrate training techniques. In addition, you will be skilled at advising our teams and pet owners on behaviour issues and have a desire to improve the experience of the pets in our care.

Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of pet behaviour and training techniques, with evidence of success in understanding pet behaviour and training problems
  • Carrying out behaviour and training programmes for dogs, across a variety of breeds and temperaments
  • Developing training programmes and delivering to owners/caregivers that are practical and realistic for a pet owner
  • Full UK driving licence
  • The ability to demonstrate, understand, and apply our Blue Cross values
