At Cavendish Nuclear, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Lifting Engineer - Appointed Person, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of lifting operations at our Hinkley Point C site.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate lifting activities to ensure safe and efficient execution
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures for effective control of MEH lifting activities
  • Collaborate with the planning team to prioritize lifting activities and associated prep work
  • Develop lift plans in accordance with NNB Management of Lifting Operations Standard
  • Ensure the selection of appropriate lifting accessories and their method of attachment to the load
  • Brief lifting/rigging supervision on safe systems of work and investigate all hazards within the operating area
  • Plan resource to ensure a Lift/Rigging Supervisor is designated to direct personnel and execute the operation in accordance with the lift plan

This role involves manual work and requires a high level of physical fitness.

This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week, based at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater.

Essential Experience:
  • Lift planning using Mobile/Crawler/Tower cranes
  • Lift planning of rigging operations
  • AutoCAD proficiency
  • Proven track record in nuclear power preferred
  • Experience working on major construction projects
  • Delivering and operating as a Team Lead, including experience working within Joint Ventures
Qualifications:
  • CPCS A61 Appointed Person (Blue Card)
  • ECITB Appointed Person Moving Loads and TAP01 (Preferred)
  • NVQ Level 3 Steel Erecting/Moving Loads
  • IOSH Managing Safely

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
