We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Conservator for Time-Based Media. This role is part of a dedicated project to acquire and preserve a large collection of artworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine and process time-based media artworks, documenting their condition and technical requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the time-based media conservator to deliver the acquisition of new artworks into our collection.
- Develop a deep understanding of individual artworks, their production techniques, and preservation risks.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, and demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
Requirements:
- Recognized qualification in conservation or equivalent relevant experience working with time-based media artworks.
- Ability to learn and develop skills associated with time-based media artworks and equipment.
About the Role:
This is a fixed-term position until 30th June 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for the examination and processing of time-based media artworks, working proactively within a team. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for conservation, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
