A Little Background on Our Coastal Team

Our Coastal team is at the forefront of maritime development, providing expert commercial, technical, and operational advice to international clients. We work across five continents on a wide range of port projects, from design and engineering to construction and maintenance.

The Role

We are seeking a talented Coastal Engineer to join our UK team. As a key member of our Coastal Engineering Team, you will contribute to the development of engineering design solutions for coastal structures and elements. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Preparing designs and analyses for coastal defences and associated structures
  2. Collecting and collating design data
  3. Producing sketch drawings and details for CAD/CIVIL3D drafting
  4. Providing direction and supervision for numerical modelling and small-scale physical modelling
  5. Providing engineering judgment and advice
  6. Commercial and technical management of projects
  7. Carrying out inspections and surveys, including occasional travel for short-term assignments

You will be supported by our Coastal Engineering Team Leader and regional Associate Director in our Liverpool office. We offer a dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth and development.

Requirements:

  1. MEng or above in a Civil Engineering Degree (or a related equivalent)
  2. Analytical Ability - ability to undertake design and analysis work with support from senior engineers
  3. Communication Skills - can clearly articulate orally and in writing the reasons behind your decisions
  4. Relationship Building - builds a network within the immediate team, and the wider organisation
  5. Organised and Structured - The way we work requires structured data storage to ensure everyone in the team can find and access information
