Abbott Rapid Diagnostics, a leading provider of diagnostic testing solutions, is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the preparation of samples and production of results within the confirmation section of the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance and calibration of instrumentation and equipment used in the analytical processes.
- Prepare reagents, calibration standards, and control materials in accordance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Manage stock levels of reagents, chemicals, and consumables to ensure adequate supplies.
- Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and filing, to support laboratory operations.
- Aliquot samples into analyzer racks and maintain a steady throughput to the screening laboratory.
- Enter donor details accurately and efficiently.
- Review and verify donor details for accuracy.
- Meet daily work program deadlines and quality standards.
- Ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Science degree or equivalent experience.
- Previous laboratory experience or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Results-driven and detail-oriented.
- Data entry experience.
