Key Responsibilities- Play a key role in the assembly and fabrication of large x-ray tubes, primarily involving the running of all facets of the welding process in the tube production area.
- Operate the clean room welding plant and recruit, assess, and train welders within the tube assembly department.
- Ensure safety-related processes and compliance associated with the welding process, including compressed gasses, COSH, and HSE.
- Support the manufacturing engineer in promoting continuous improvement within the tube assembly process to reduce assembly times while monitoring quality and output.
- 25 days' holidays plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after 10 years' service.

- Be responsible for H & S of all welding personnel and processes.

- Ensure the welding skill base is developed to support the tube assembly process.
- Maintain the clean room environment to avoid particulate contamination and ensure the highest possible standards of cleanliness.
- Review and contribute to the development of work instructions and assembly checklists.
- Participate and promote production improvement initiatives.
- Be familiar with all assembly tasks in the tube assembly area.
- Flexibility to stand in for other technicians working in different areas of the tube production.
- Independence to work without supervision.
- Initiative to make considered decisions and take appropriate actions.
- Discipline to maintain best working practices within the clean rooms.
- Fastidiousness to maintain the highest standards of mechanical assembly.
