Saputo Dairy UK is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team. As a key member of our site operations team, you will be responsible for the 24-7 operation of one of our production facilities, encompassing 11 production lines and a team of circa 150.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing strict adherence to health and safety regulations and promoting a strong safety culture among the production team.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and legal requirements, such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety regulations. Maintain/improve BRC A+ rating.
- Manage and coordinate daily production activities, including planning, scheduling, and execution, to meet production targets and customer demand.
- Utilise the SIC and Tier process to manage operational KPIs such as safety, quality, plan attainment, OEE, quality, yield, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and structured development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the production team.
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement through the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies within Saputo's MPS (Manufacturing Performance System).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or equivalent vocational experience.
- Proven experience as a Production Manager in an FMCG or manufacturing environment, preferably with experience in a turnaround setting.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean methodologies, and continuous improvement principles.
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality management systems.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on operational excellence and meeting production targets.
