Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to Drivers Hours Regulations by effectively planning and overseeing driver schedules, including daily monitoring of Tachograph data for any violations, speeding incidents, or missing entries.
  • Logistics Planning: Organize and manage transportation tasks for the organization on a daily basis.
  • Route Management: Develop routes for oversized loads in accordance with required notification periods.
  • Client Coordination: Communicate and collaborate with clients and the supply chain as necessary.
  • Compliance Support: Assist the SHEQ Manager and Compliance Officer with FORS-related tasks as needed.
  • Daily Compliance Checks: Support the Transport Manager in ensuring all daily inspections are completed.
  • Vehicle Maintenance Coordination: Help the Transport Manager schedule weekly Planned Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) as requested by the workshop.
  • Site Booking: Work with the Compliance Officer to arrange vehicle access to specific locations.
  • Insurance Management: Ensure vehicles are appropriately added or removed from the company insurance policy as necessary.
  • Incident Management: Assist the Transport Manager with any incidents or accidents involving the transport fleet.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with and provide coverage for other members of the Transport team during absences.
  • Reporting: Provide necessary updates and reports to the Transport Manager.
  • Administrative Support: Perform general administrative tasks within the Transport department.

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, ideally within the crane or construction sector.
  • Strong understanding of STGO and oversized load regulations, including routing and movement notifications.
  • Familiarity with Tachograph laws and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of FORS standards and practices.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and a strong team player with high integrity.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize tasks to achieve results with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of influencing and negotiating effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Possession of a CPC Certificate of Professional Competence.
  • Driven by improvement and innovation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adaptable and open to change.

Working Hours:

  • Standard hours are typically from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
  • Annual leave entitlement is 28 days, inclusive of public holidays, increasing by one day for each full year of service.
  • Pension scheme with auto-enrollment.
  • Salary range is between £28,000 and £32,000, depending on experience.
