About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our integrated Community Neurology and Stroke Service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of stroke patients by providing rehabilitation and support within the stroke pathway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to stroke patients in a community setting.
  • Collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' needs and developing individualized care plans.
  • Providing education and support to patients, families, and caregivers on stroke recovery and management.
  • Contributing to service development initiatives and clinical audit processes.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC).
  • BSc/BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Post-registration qualification in a relevant area of clinical practice.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with adults who have neurological conditions as a qualified therapist.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessment, care planning, and case management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working within a community-based setting.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in stroke rehabilitation or neurology.
  • Teaching experience for both professionals, students, and patients/carers.
