Key Responsibilities:

As a Harness Wirer, you will play a crucial role in the precise assembly of wiring harnesses. Your tasks will include:

  • Crimping: Skillfully executing crimping techniques to ensure secure wire connections to terminals, guaranteeing electrical reliability.
  • Cutting: Using the right tools to cut wires to specified lengths as per work instructions.
  • Stripping: Accurately stripping wire insulation to maintain uniformity in connections.
  • Cable Preparation: Organising and arranging wires according to layout diagrams to ensure proper assembly.
  • Taping: Applying insulating tape to bundle and protect wires effectively.
  • Heat Shrinkage: Operating heat shrink equipment to seal connections securely.
  • Reading Electrical Diagrams: Interpreting basic electrical schematics and assembly drawings to ensure correct wiring configurations.
  • Mechanical Skills: Assembling flatpack components to integrate wiring harnesses into mechanical structures.
  • Documentation: Using Microsoft Word for job details and updating production records.
  • Quality Assurance: Conducting thorough quality checks to meet established standards.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in harness wiring or similar electrical assembly roles is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with crimping tools and other relevant equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical principles and wiring techniques.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and assembly drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective communication skills for following instructions.
