We are seeking an experienced Automation Maintenance Technician to join our team at Royal Mail Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of automation assets through effective maintenance procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance
  • Conduct continuous improvement activities to optimize automation equipment performance
  • Provide support to the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader, and Engineering Team Coaches
  • Identify root causes of automation breakdowns and prioritize corrective actions
  • Monitor equipment performance and collaborate with operational stakeholders to improve automation outputs
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications in electrical and mechanical engineering (minimum ONC Electrical Engineering / NVQ Level 3 – or equivalent)
  • Experience in maintaining automation equipment, ideally Programme Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Understanding of Health & Safety legislation
  • A flexible approach and ability to communicate complex issues effectively
