Job Title: Fabrication Manager

Are you a seasoned engineering professional looking for a challenging role in project management? We are seeking a Fabrication Manager to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Fabrication Manager to lead our project team in the management of complex upgrade and new substation builds. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of the Design Execution Plan and DFMA strategy, as well as the project Digital Engineering Strategy and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the Design Execution Plan and DFMA strategy with the design coordinator
  • Lead the project team in the development of the project Digital Engineering Strategy and processes
  • Manage the project digital engineering and execution processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and agreed by all parties
  • Engage with engineering teams to develop and maintain an integrated design, procurement, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning programme
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to manage and control commercial change resulting from technical change and/or omissions
  • Oversee the management of the project document and drawing control process to ensure information, drawing, and document flow is logged and controlled
Requirements:
  • Up to 100KV and above exposure
  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar level of training
  • NEC project knowledge desirable
  • Engineering and design quality audits
  • National Grid (or similar entity) registration process desirable
  • National Grid (or similar) transmission procedures - Technical specifications, guidance notes, design handbooks desirable
Desirable:
  • Circa 5+ years as an Engineering Manager
  • Power/Substation experience
  • Direct delivery, one team approach with supply chain, engineering teams, project teams, and client
  • Ideally should be a Chartered Electrical/Mechanical Engineer registered with IET
  • Leadership qualities with good interpersonal and communication skills and an understanding of the importance of constructive and supporting relationships
