Role Overview:
As a Senior Practice Accountant at Hunter Mason Consulting Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in our esteemed General Practice Accountancy firm. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our financial operations and client services.
Main Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of accounts up to Trial Balance.
- Management of accounts payable and receivable, including quarterly VAT submissions, prepayments, and accruals.
- Review and preparation of VAT Returns.
- Oversight and preparation of bookkeeping tasks.
- Completion of accounting journals and necessary adjustments.
- Assistance in the preparation and generation of monthly management accounts.
- Support in the compilation of year-end statutory accounts.
- Conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations with precision and timeliness.
- Ensuring the maintenance of accurate financial records consistently.
- Preparation and entry of accruals, prepayments, and other relevant journals.
- Management of the fixed asset register, including reconciliation of asset additions and disposals.
- Collaboration with various departments to manage expectations effectively.
- Preparation of accounts to meet internal deadlines, ensuring quality suitable for initial review.
- Timely and appropriate responses to client inquiries.
- Engagement in client meetings.
- Supervision of staff members.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience in an accounting role.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as IRIS, Sage, Quickbooks, Kashflow, and Xero.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a solid command of English.
- Attention to detail and a hands-on approach to tasks.
- Competence in Excel and other accounting tools.
- AAT Level 4 qualification or higher is preferred.
