Digital Waffle is seeking a talented Cloud Operations Engineer to become a vital part of our innovative team. In this position, you will play a key role in optimizing our cloud infrastructure and enhancing our deployment workflows.
Essential Skills:
- Expertise in AWS services
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies (using tools like BitBucket, GitHub, or Jenkins)
- Understanding of PHP and React
- Proficient in MySQL database management
Main Responsibilities:
- Architect, implement, and oversee scalable and secure AWS environments (including EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS, IAM).
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Collaborate with software development teams to establish efficient CI/CD pipelines for software delivery.
- Monitor and enhance system performance, security, and resource allocation.
- Diagnose and resolve infrastructure-related challenges, including network and server performance issues.
- Partner with software engineers to improve application performance and facilitate seamless feature rollouts.
- Administer MySQL databases, focusing on schema design, performance optimization, and data backups.
- Implement and sustain RESTful APIs for effective system integration.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in cloud computing and DevOps methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a Cloud Operations Engineer or in a comparable role.
- Strong command of AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS, IAM).
- Solid grasp of Infrastructure as Code principles and experience with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience with the Symfony framework and RESTful API development.
- Proficient in managing and optimizing MySQL databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket or AWS CodePipeline.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a knack for troubleshooting complex production issues.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging solutions (New Relic, AWS CloudWatch).
- Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles.
- Familiarity with additional programming languages (PHP, React).
