Electrical Engineer Job Description

Workshop Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Shoreham-by-sea. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for industrial materials handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creation of project specification documents
  • Component selection for integration into original machine electrical systems
  • Design of electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
  • Contribution to design of components to be packaged onto vehicles
  • Specification of Ex certified primary traction batteries
  • Definition of electrical enclosure layouts and population
  • Design of solutions to achieve optimal execution cost
  • Specification of product test requirements
  • Production of documentation to support product certification
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • BOM generation
  • Design of electrical systems
  • Specification/sizing of electrical components
  • Understanding of mechanical/electrical system integration
  • A good knowledge of electrical and electronic systems
  • HND / Degree or equivalent in electrical, electronics, or automotive engineering
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD Electrical
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Design of electrical machine systems and controls
  • Broad knowledge of electrical and electronic control systems
  • CAN protocol knowledge
  • Knowledge of EMC relating to machines and control techniques
