About the Role:

Ramsay Health Care Limited is seeking a skilled Hospital Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Ashtead Hospital in Surrey. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program to ensure the hospital's facilities and equipment are in good working order.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and tests to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  3. Manage and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment performance.
  4. Collaborate with the Operations Manager to develop and implement strategies to improve maintenance efficiency and reduce downtime.
  5. Provide technical support and guidance to hospital staff on maintenance-related issues.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with external contractors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance services.
  7. Participate in health and safety initiatives to ensure a safe working environment for hospital staff and patients.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in hospital maintenance and engineering.

Requirements:

  1. Core tradesman skills in electrical, plumbing, and/or heating services.
  2. Demonstrated significant digital literacy and computer skills, especially in MS Office Word and Excel.
  3. Healthcare or similar facilities maintenance experience.
  4. Evidence of delivering refurbishment and build projects.
  5. City and Guilds qualification in a relevant building management, engineering, or facility services discipline or equivalent.
  6. ONC/BTEC in a relevant building management, engineering, or facility services discipline or equivalent.
  7. Routine minor painting and decorating skills (desirable).
  8. Some knowledge of IT cabling/socket installation and fault finding (desirable).
