We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Colour and Materials Designer to join our team at Contechs. As a Senior Colour and Materials Designer, you will be responsible for leading the Colour and Materials team and delivering high-quality designs that meet the business' requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Colour and Materials team and provide guidance and support to junior designers.
  • Communicate and progress critical issues to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Deputise for the Colour and Materials Manager as required.
  • Support the Colour and Materials team in delivering new materials and finishes for all programs.
  • Develop and implement Colour and Materials strategies that align with the company's design vision.
  • Collaborate with designers, function groups, marketing, and purchasing teams to ensure proposals meet the required standards.
  • Represent the Colour and Materials team at technical and senior meetings as required.
  • Design and develop Colour and Materials concepts that meet the company's design standards and requirements.
Requirements
  • University degree in Art and Design or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience as a Colour and Materials Designer, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality designs.
  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a high-performance team.
  • Strong project planning and management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Highly creative with excellent colour vision, colour harmony, and an intuitive understanding of perceived value and craftsmanship.
  • Significant knowledge of automotive/industrial colours and materials.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to explain and express design intention.
  • High level of competence in using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office.

  • Highly motivated team player with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Well-organised and methodical, with excellent attention to detail.
