About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated professional to become a part of our specialized Procurement team.

This team is responsible for delivering high-quality procurement assistance and guidance to staff members tasked with establishing new contracts.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with various tenders related to Social Care and Health, Children and Young People, and other service areas, sometimes in collaboration with other local authorities and Integrated Care Boards.
  • Overseeing minor procurement activities through Invitations to Quote.
  • Providing additional support as needed by commissioners, operational teams, and contract management personnel.
  • Updating procurement guidelines and templates to align with the new Provider Selection Regime and forthcoming Procurement Act.
  • Helping commissioners and others comprehend the existing procurement regulations, the new Provider Selection Regime, and the upcoming Procurement Act, ensuring compliance with Contract Standing Orders.
  • Managing the In-Tend online tendering platform and offering training on its use as required.
  • Contributing to the overall success of the Procurement (People) team’s projects and objectives.

To excel in this role, you must possess the ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative. You should be capable of performing under pressure, meeting unexpected deadlines, and managing competing priorities while maintaining effective relationships.
