Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has emerged for an Administrator to become a vital part of our team.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the Rota Manager to facilitate and assist the Consultant Service Organisers and Consultant Trainee Leads in delivering a cohesive weekly anaesthetic rota for both sites. This role encompasses the timely publication of a comprehensive anaesthetic staff rota, ensuring the appropriate skill mix aligns with the relevant clinical areas.
Additional responsibilities include serving as the primary contact for organizational inquiries and issues related to Consultant Anaesthetists, Junior Anaesthetic staff, and all personnel utilizing the anaesthetic services. The role will also involve supporting the directorate in workforce planning, adapting to changes in working patterns while ensuring adherence to local and national policies and directives. The candidate will be part of a dynamic team, committed to providing a seamless and efficient anaesthetic service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain an integrated weekly medical rota covering the 24/7 period across both hospitals, including consultants, trainee doctors, and other members of the anaesthetic workforce.
2. Collaborate closely with colleagues, particularly those in service roles, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to service planning.
3. Ensure service delivery aligns with the identified staffing resources for each week, maintaining the correct skill mix in the appropriate locations.
4. Produce rotas in advance on a rolling 6-week basis to align with Trust-wide service planning.
5. Work alongside the Duty Floor Anaesthetist to manage daily unscheduled absences, such as sickness and leave, ensuring timely updates to the rota.

Essential
- GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above in 5 subjects, including Maths and English.
- ECDL or equivalent IT qualification or demonstrable experience.
- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or a relevant subject, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Desirable
- A levels.

Essential
- Extensive experience in the NHS/public sector covering an AFC 3 role or above.
- Previous clerical experience in an office/customer-focused environment.
