About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Darwen, supporting students aged 10-19 with complex needs such as Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and related conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the planning and evaluation of learning activities to support students' learning and development.
  • Provide feedback on students' progress and attainment to ensure they meet their full potential.
  • Monitor and report on student development, ensuring adherence to school policies and procedures.
  • Support positive behaviour management, adapting approaches to suit individual student needs.
  • Encourage social, emotional, and behavioural growth in line with the school's curriculum.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for student transport on a rota basis).
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
  • Level 2 or above qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
  • Ability to adapt creatively and positively to meet individual student needs.
