About the Role

Expert Employment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the space industry. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing fluid system components, including electro-mechanical valves or mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop fluid system components, including electro-mechanical valves or mechanisms.
  • Develop procedures for the assembly and testing of development and qualification hardware.
  • Generate design and compliance documents using CAD, finite element analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the company's commitment to safe working practices, both on-site and in design principles.
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification work experience in the space industry (other sectors considered by exception).
  • Proven experience with CAD for generating 3D models.
  • Experience with test rig design, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems for fluid systems, with the ability to write detailed operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of the design, manufacture, and testing of aerospace or space products.
  • Familiarity with valve, mechanism, or propulsion designs.
