About the Role

We design, test, manufacture, and assemble landing gear for commercial aircraft and military aircraft. Our UK division in Gloucester has been at the forefront of cutting-edge landing gear technology for over 90 years.

Responsibilities

  • Work with FE tools, such as ABAQUS, to perform classical static stress and fatigue analysis.
  • Interface with other areas of the business, including Chief Engineers, Programmes, Test Engineering, and Manufacturing.
  • Participate in audit reviews and present information as required.
  • Participate in product validation and liaise with external suppliers, customers, airframers, regulatory bodies, and other industrial organizations.
  • Identify analysis solutions and recommend improvements or suggest alternative methods.
  • Review drawings, designs, concessions, and repairs.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Comply with industry standards, regulations, and qualification requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum HNC/Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
  • Good working knowledge of aerospace design and manufacturing processes, with landing gear experience advantageous.
  • A good understanding of different engineering functions and experience working within them.
  • Experience with FEA and fatigue software tools, static and fatigue structural analysis methods, and aerospace materials engineering properties.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and experience working to regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working in an IPT environment and occasional travel may be required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present information.
  • Organized and able to work to strict deadlines, proficient with Microsoft Office applications, proactive, and a problem solver.
