SEND Teaching Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team in Kirklees. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex learning needs, creating a nurturing and positive learning environment that enables students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, adapting learning activities to meet their individual needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans, ensuring each student has the opportunity to succeed.
  • Implement personalized strategies to support the social, emotional, and educational development of students.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour, using positive reinforcement to encourage progress and engagement.
  • Provide support with personal care needs as required, maintaining the dignity and wellbeing of each pupil.
Requirements:
  • Experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents to foster a collaborative approach to education.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to providing the highest level of care and educational support.
