Job Summary

The Essex County Council is seeking a skilled Park Operations Assistant to join their team at Great Notley Country Park. As a key member of the park's operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the daily operation of the park runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the daily operation of the park by ensuring all car park vehicle access points are open and securely closed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of toilet facilities, reporting any repairs needed.
  • Engage with customers to enhance their experience, addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Operate basic machinery and drive park vehicles as required.
  • Perform grounds maintenance duties, including strimming, mowing, and using associated ground care equipment.
  • Ensure all facilities, including toilets, buildings, and storage areas, are secure and accessible as needed.
  • Support general operational activities and maintain the safety and beauty of the park by picking up litter and emptying bins.
  • Conduct Health and Safety checks on play areas and complete relevant paperwork.
  • Assist rangers with various park duties.

Requirements

  • Hold a RQF Level 2 qualification (GCSE or BTech) or equivalent by experience.
  • Have experience working with the public, delivering excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to provide information and advice.
  • Have experience working within a team, supporting team members to achieve local objectives.

Additional Requirements

  • Hold a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle, or be able to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
